Food Challenge Competition – Chatham County

This competition challenges teams of 4-H members to create a dish using only a predetermined set of ingredients. From these ingredients, team members must identify and prepare a dish, then make a presentation about it to the judges.

Chatham County 4-H entered a team of senior 4-H’ers (The Savannah Roses), that participated in the Georgia 4-H Food Challenge competition on September 10, 2016 at Rock Eagle. The team placed 2nd in the state and had the opportunity to compete at the national level in Dallas, Texas.

The team, composed of military 4-H’ers Amari McDonald, Anna Morris and Katie Fenno, traveled to Texas in October to compete. Forty-two youth from six different states participated in the 3rd Annual National 4-H Food Challenge Contest in October 2016. The Savannah Roses came out smelling like roses when they placed 4th in the nation.
