Voices: Artists Who Inspire from the Collection of the Beach Museum of Art. Premiers on July 4, 2020.
This weekly series, appearing on Saturdays on the Beach Buddies Facebook Group, is inspired by the book “Between the Lines” a biography of African-American artist Ernie Barnes. When he was in high school, Barnes went to an art museum and asked to see the art work by artists “like him.” He was told “people of color don’t do art.” Years later, as a successful artist, he proved them wrong. We hope this series will provide inspiration for all young artists.
