The Museum hosts a variety of classes and workshops throughout the year for all ages.

Winter/Spring 2018 ARTSmart programs for families
Explore the wide variety of media found in the Beach Museum of Art’s  permanent collection and special exhibitions. “Here, and Now. The K-State Art Faculty Exhibition” provides a wide variety of inspiration for creative  youngsters.

Homeschool Tuesdays
Classes meet on the first Tuesday of the month and allow homeschool families a chance to engage with the current exhibitions. Tours are appropriate for those in Kindergarten and up.

Summer 2018 ARTSmart programs for families at the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art
Spend the summer exploring themes from the exhibitions “Jam Session,” in conjunction with the Manhattan Public Library summer reading theme “Libraries Rock,” and “Summer Idyll.”

Classes are held the following weeks:

  • June 5-7: Jazzy Collages
  • June 12-14: Humming Along (home-made harmonicas)
  • June 19-21: We Got the Beat (percussion instruments)
  • June 26-28: Classical Notes (keyboards and strings)
  • July 10-12: Cubist Landscapes (photography in the Meadow)
  • July 17-19: Abstract Worlds (marbleized and poured landscapes)
  • July 24-27: Landscape Layers

Cost for above classes is $3 per child, reservations required. Call (785)-532-7718 or email klwalk@ksu.edu for reservations. Children must be accompanied by an adult. If you need to cancel your reservation let us know so we can call those on the waiting list.

Group Tours – Jam Session tours and an activity is also available for summer school, camp, social service, and summer day care programs on a first come, first serve basis on Fridays and available 1-2:30 p.m. Tues. – Thurs. time slots. Participants will receive a general tour of the exhibition and participate in the week’s featured project. Special Price for Military Families: In conjunction with the Blue Star Museum program, the Beach Museum of Art offers military families half price on all workshops and classes.
