According to information provided by a regional dementia care specialist and Riley County census data
~ More than 700 people in Riley County live with an Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
~ This number does not account for the other 100+ dementia diseases that affect adults 65 and older.
Meadowlark Memory Program, created in 2015 in response to these eye-opening statistics, offers FREE education and engagement opportunities to persons in the Flint Hills region affected by cognitive changes. Several activities for those with memory loss are offered weekly and monthly, while a support group for care partners is offered bi-monthly. Individual Lifestyle Consultations are available at no cost as requested.
