On Sept. 30, with the Confucius Institute, the Chinese Language and Culture Club hosted a dumpling making & tasting workshop at Jardine Frith Community Center, attracting more than 70 participants from K-State students, faculty and staff, and greater community with diverse cultural background.
After a brief introduction to the culture behind it, the CLCC and the teacher from CI demonstrated how to make dumplings and Xiaolongbao (soup dumpling).
By dividing into groups based on vegetarian/meat fillings, people get hands-on experiences on making dumplings, and of course eating their creations afterwards. At least one professional was instructing side by each station.
The CLCC also had a recipe printed out for participants to take back home. Check out this video if you want to take a shot!
The Confucius Institute is currently offering more culture workshops/classes including calligraphy, paper-cutting, Tai chi, and opera mask painting. See more details from here.
