The Royal Purple staff wants to include your group, club, and organization in the 2020 Royal Purple yearbook. As the only official record of student life at K-State, a group picture in the yearbook preserves your presence on campus for years to come. We aim to document as much of K-State’s student life as possible and we hope you will participate.
There are three ways that your organization can be included, we hope to see all of you in the 2020 book!

Greetings!
My name is Nicole Wade; I am the zoo’s volunteer coordinator. I wanted to let you know about an upcoming volunteer opportunity at Sunset Zoo that might interest you or some of the members of your organization. We are looking for volunteers 14 and older to help with this year’s SPOOKTacular event.
SPOOKTacular is Sunset Zoo’s biggest special event of the year and occurs on October 26th and 27th this year. Every year we need roughly 100 volunteers per day to pull off this event. I would love to have your organization be a part of it.
Please note that I cannot guarantee any particular position for the event. However, if there is something of particular interest to you, I will try to make that happen (please email this information to me at zoovolunteer@cityofmhk.com so that I know your interest). 3) Sign up! It’s Easy – you will NOT need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.com.

Volunteers do not need to bring anything accept a water bottle, however we will also have water available for you. Please wear a family friendly costume or a T-shirt that represents out community (Sunset Zoo gift shop shirt, MHS shirt, K-state shirt, Konza shirt, Flint Hills shirt, etc.) We will also have name tags which we would like for you to wear.
I will send emails Friday, October 25th confirming assignments and providing additional information about the logistics when volunteering at Sunset Zoo.

Student Organization Advisors Meeting

Advisors of both independent and departmental student organizations are invited to attend the first Advisors meeting of the Fall 2019 semester. CSI will continue host meetings for advisors to gather throughout the Fall and Spring semesters. The purpose of these meetings is to provide an opportunity to share information regarding university and center updates and highlights, opportunities to connect with other individuals serving in advisory capacities, and allow for greater collaboration among the K-State student organizations community.
The Center for Student Involvement wants to hear about your organization’s experiences with fundraising! Positive or negative, we want to hear about what you’ve tried, was it successful, and did you learn any do’s or don’ts along the way?
The Travel Allocation and On-Campus Allocation Forms will close on November 8th at 11am. This will be the deadline to receive funding for events that occur between December 1st 2019 through February 15th 2020. The forms can be found on Orgcentral under the Forms Tab, or by clicking the links below.

Leadership Appreciation Reception

To recognize and encourage leadership, Blue Key holds an Annual Leadership Appreciation Reception. This event aims to recognize outstanding student leaders, organizational advisors, faculty and administration for their service to K-State. The event consists of a guest speaker, the announcement of annual recognition awards winners by the Center for Student Involvement, followed by social time for the groups to speak with and congratulate one another. The purpose of the reception is to recognize the commitment those leaders have made and emphasize the support that Kansas State shows to its students.

Student Organization Recognition Awards

The Center for Student Involvement is sponsoring awards recognizing students, advisors, and organizations for their work over the past year. These recognition awards will be announced at Blue Key’s Leadership Appreciation Reception on November 14, 2019. Each award recipient will be recognized and receive a plaque. To make a nomination for any of these awards, please complete the online nomination form(s) in OrgCentral. These forms will automatically close at 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2019. Officers and Their Roles Workshop for Student Organizations

Join the Center for Student Involvement this Thursday for a 45-minute leadership development workshop designed to promote student organization success. This session will focus on understanding the needs of an organization and determining how each officer within that organization contributes to the central mission. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP in OrgCentral is encouraged, although not required. All student organization members and interested students are welcome.
