End of Summer Programming

MANHATTAN–As the end of the summer nears, so does the end of summer programs in the Office of Diversity. The closing ceremony for the 2017 MAPS program was held on Thursday, July 20, 2017. Students participating in the KSRE Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship presented the findings of their research on July 27, 2017.

Corporate sponsors, mentors, instructors, tutors, and faculty members alike were present at the 2017 closing ceremony for the Class XI MAPS scholars. Mentors and directors presented scholars with a certificate of completion and a slideshow of memories to commemorate their participation in the program.

KSRE Undergraduate Research Fellowship is coming to a close as students reveal their tangible results on Thursday. Numerous individuals have applied to the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University after their experience within the program this summer.

As August quickly approaches the Office of Diversity is making its final preparations for the 2017 Kompass orientation. The program will commence on August 6, 2017 with a family welcome and dining etiquette dinner. Students will participate in a 3-day extended orientation to familiarize them with the campus community and give them a head start within their career field. They will also participate in the ‘Guaranteed 4.0 Training’ course, professional and personal development workshops, and a challenge course all in three days.

As the Office of Diversity transitions we will continue to promote diversity programs for underrepresented students, faculty, and staff.

On June 17, 2017 we had the privilege of collaborating in the 28th Annual Juneteenth celebration. Thank you to all sponsors and individuals responsible for making this happen.

We look forward to assisting as scholars matriculate throughout their college careers. Please continue to use our office as a resource and thank you to all the scholars who have participated in our programs this summer!
