First Scholars learn about leadership and gain skills through different workshops throughout the spring semester.
This spring, sophomore First Scholars have been focusing on Paying It Forward. As Juniors, Scholars will take on a leadership role within First Scholars. Scholars will serve as Peer Mentors, Ambassadors, Socials and Social Media liaisons, or as a Community Service Assistant. Scholars prepared for these roles through a workshop emphasizing How to Lead with Purpose.
Freshmen have attended workshops focusing on resumes and cover letters and learned about Working and Leading in a Diverse World. These workshops are facilitate by faculty and staff from K-State.
