In the Spotlight…

Mandie Christensen

Amanda “Mandie” Christensen is an Administrative Specialist (responsible for Room Scheduling) in our Customer Service Department, supervised by Loleta Sump. She grew up in Manhattan with 6 brothers and 1 sister. She has worked at K-State for 2 years, 7 months, and 13 days. Her favorite part of K-State is the diversity and the people that make it run, “Everyone is a delight.” Mandie’s connection to K-State goes back further than most of us realize. Her grandfather, John Kipp, was a K-State professor in Electrical Engineering from the mid 1960’s until 1981.

While working at K-State, Mandie became EMT certified and volunteers on the weekends for Geary County. She is studying to become a registered nurse (RN) and loves learning about all kinds of “medical stuff”. She also enjoys reading comics, playing soccer, fixing cars, target practice, and collecting anything “Batman”.  Her favorite website is Pinterest and her favorite food is coffee….although Gumbo is a close second. Lake Wilson Campground is her favorite place to get away from it all,

“I love waking up to the sun shining and birds chirping. The people around the campsites are always friendly and interesting…..and NO ELECTRONICS is fabulous!”
