Last week, I officially hit the 30-day mark as president and CEO of the KSU Foundation. This first month has been an exciting one, filled with learning and listening. I’ve enjoyed getting to know the KSU Foundation staff, our campus partners, donors and friends, and especially learning more about the K-State family.
While the listening and learning will continue, my first 30 days have taught me volumes about the KSU Foundation and its potential to move Kansas State University forward. We’ve enjoyed tremendous successes over the last several years. Fundraising has soared to new heights, our endowment investment performance is nationally recognized and the construction of our new office building, to be completed in October 2015, will support our organization’s needed growth to advance philanthropic giving into the distant future.
In April we will be holding our first ever Spring Foundation Trustees meeting, which will be a multiple-day experience. We will be sharing current information about the initiatives underway to help you be better informed and educated as the premier ambassadors of K-State throughout our communities. In addition to celebrating the multiple ways you currently contribute, we will be sharing some examples of other ways you may choose to participate as our campaign moves forward. This activity is an important part of how we will continue to serve Kansas State University at ever-increasing levels into the future. Finding meaningful ways to engage and harness your passion as loyal K-Staters across the country will be the difference maker. We need inspired thinking and commitment to meet the challenges of tomorrow and our goals of becoming a top 50 public research university by 2025, and we look forward to sharing feedback with all of you during this upcoming meeting.
Thanks for all the ways that you contribute to make Kansas State University one of our nation’s outstanding institutions. I look forward to partnering with you as we work together to advance K-State to new heights through philanthropy.
