23rd Annual Travel & Dining Auction reaches new financial records from proceeds and donations

The 23rd annual Travel and Dining Auction was a huge success, thanks to all the attendees who were able to come on March 22 to the Hilton Garden Inn and bid the night away. Auction gross proceeds topped $45,225.00, making this year the all-time leader for receipts in TDA history.  In addition, the TDA team brought in $49,370 worth of donated items another all-time record for in donations.

Hat’s off to the TDA team as the students who diligently wrote letters, went out to businesses in Manhattan and the surrounding areas, brought donations from home, and our faithful donors who always come through when asked in getting donations.  “We were so pleased with the results,” stated Laken Wagner whose mother donated her travel services to plan a Disney vacation to the auction. “We had an amazing variety of K-State items, trips, wine, and handmade signs. When we asked, the donors were more than willing to generously give again to TDA,” Wagner said.

Our students spent a lot of time planning the event and were all not only excited to hear that attendees enjoy their evening, but also that so much was so generously raised for the students in the Hospitality Management Department.  We hope that every attendee understands just how much their contribution and support means to us as students. Our students have already started strategizing on how to get new and exciting items to sell for next year’s auction.
