Summer School Housing

Living space is available May 17 through Aug. 14 in Putnam and Van Zile residence halls. Options include standard rooms and suites, as well as a limited number of single rooms. Summer school housing has several benefits:

– Affordable weekly rates (two-week minimum).
– Meal plan included (meals available when Derby Dining Center is open).
– Convenient proximity to classes.
– No need to sublease or worry about finding roommates.
– Residents must be enrolled in classes or working on other K-State academic pursuits such as research to be eligible to live on campus.

Housing and Dining Services offers flexible and convenient housing options to students taking classes during the summer semester.

Who can live here?

Any student who will be enrolled in classes or completing academic work at Kansas State University during the summer semester is eligible for on-campus housing.

Contract dates

Housing will be available from Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 1 p.m. until Friday, August 14, 2015, at 10 a.m.

The summer contract is a week-to-week contract. You can stay for as few as two weeks or as many as 13 weeks.

A summer housing week begins on Sunday and ends on Saturday.

Hall location, room types and meal plans

Summer housing residents will be assigned to a space in Putnam or Van Zile halls.

Suite, small singles and double-as-single room options are available on a limited basis. Any student who preferences one of these special room types will be charged a supplemental fee as indicated below. Learn more about Putnam and Van Zile room type options.

Residents are required to select a 10, 15 or 20 meals-per-week meal plan.

Cost

A $200 down payment is required to complete the contract.

The cost of a standard double room with a 20 meal plan is $255 per week or $40 per day for any partial weeks.

Process

Complete the summer housing application. There is no cost to complete this application.

If you have a verified eID (K-State email address) and password, you will be able to immediately complete the summer housing contract.

If you do not have a verified eID, you can create one.

Changes to the contract

If you need to change your selected arrival date and/or your departure date after the completion of this contract, please contact Housing and Dining Services at least three days in advance. Failure to provide the required three-day notice will result in a $75 improper check-in/checkout fee.
