See you in Scottsdale for AMS!

We look forward to seeing our alumni and friends at the 17th annual Agricultural Media Summit! This year, four ACJ students and one graduate student will attend the summit in Scottsdale, Arizona, July 25-29. AMS 2015

“I look forward to learning about the successes of my fellow agricultural communicators and networking with professionals that are proudly serving our industry,” says Kaitlin Morgan, senior. Morgan is traveling to AMS as an Livestock Publication Council travel scholarship and will represent Kansas State University as a finalist for the Forrest Bassford Award.

“As an intern for Kansas Soybean this summer, it will be wonderful to visit with the American Soybean Association and National Biodiesel Board at the InfoExpo,” says Amanda Sales, junior. “I am looking forward to those networking connections at AMS.”

Along with the opportunity to network with agricultural communications professionals, students are also looking forward to what they can learn in sessions.

“This trip is an opportunity for professional development that I just can’t pass up,” says Malerie Strahm, senior. “I am really looking forward to the sessions and learning about how to build a brand and reputation as an advocate for agriculture.”

“I am really looking forward to the Adobe workshop and chatting with other media professionals,” says Sales.

While networking and industry experience draw students to AMS, the connection to Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) is also a huge motivator for students to attend.

“My biggest motivation for going, though, is to run for a national ACT officer position, which is something I have aspired to do since PDC in January,” says Sales.
