Marston awarded honorary fellowship
Richard Marston, Distinguished Professor Emeritus and former head of the geography and geospatial sciences department, has been awarded an honorary fellowship by the International Association of Geomorphology in recognition of his outstanding service to the discipline and to IAG. This is the association’s highest honor.
Marston has served as the association’s president and its co-editor-in-chief of the journal Geomorphology. He is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American and Royal Geographical Societies, and more. He is also an Association of American Geographers Ronald F. Abler Distinguished Service Honoree.
Marston will be recognized at the International Conference of Geomorphology in New Zealand in February 2026.
