Eleven Kansas State University Department of Animal Sciences and Industry (ASI) seniors were recognized Thursday, May 2 for their service as K-State ASI Mentors.

The students were honored during the ASI Mentor Annual Banquet at the Stanley Stout Center. The graduating seniors were acknowledged for their dedication to creating a welcoming environment for prospective students and their families, as well as during events hosted by the department.

  • Katrina Tucker, Hopkins, MI – Formulation Management Team at Cargill in Kansas City, Missouri
  • Rylee Chapman, Corona, CA – Will be graduating in December 2024

Throughout the 2023-24 school year ASI Mentors shared their experiences during approximately 235 prospective student visits, at 12 youth and stakeholder events and have written more than 2,300 congratulation cards.

“This past week we were able to celebrate an outstanding set of seniors within the ASI mentor program. These young adults have dedicated a lot of their time and energy into the current and future of our department. We appreciate everything they have done to support and grow this program,” says Emily Grund, ASI Mentor advisor. “Likewise, we are excited to welcome in a new group of mentors. I am anxious to see the lasting impression they will leave during this exciting time in history for the ASI department.”
