Kansas State University

The K-State Livestock Judging Team completed its season Nov. 13, with a 7^th place overall finish at the 118^th National Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest in Louisville, Kentucky. An amazingly competitive day was highlighted by team member Brody Nemecek being named the contest Reserve High Individual Overall.

Brody and teammate Weston Schrader were named to the 10-member All-American team for their combination of contest success, academic standing, campus involvement and industry leadership. That brings K-State’s All-American total to a record 46 since the award was established in 2000.

In attendance at the banquet was the 1983 K-State squad, including team member Dr. Scott Schaake, as they and coach Dr. Bill Able were recognized as the 40-year anniversary championship team.

MEAT JUDGING TEAM TO RAFFLE OFF RIBEYE ROLLS. The Kansas State Meat Judging Team is once again selling raffle tickets ($10) for ribeye rolls to help support the team’s travel costs in the upcoming year. The raffle will be conducted the week of December 11th and the winners will have the option of having the meat cut to their specifications.
