  • Demo Day with the Deans: Students, faculty and staff are invited to Demo Day with the Deans from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 15 at the corner of Mid-Campus Drive and Claflin Road by the International Student Center. This College of Agriculture event celebrates the start of the fencing going up around Weber Arena for the construction of the new Global Center for Grain and Food Innovation.   • Kiracofe Lecture: Dr. Jeff Stevenson will be the presenter at the 2024 Kiracofe Lecture and Physiology/Animal Breeding Seminar on Tuesday, April 30 at 1:30 p.m. in Call Hall 205. The presentation title is “Perils and Performance of Peer Review”. Learn more about the seminar here.
  • Kansas Meat Processors Association (KMPA) Scholarship: The Kansas Meat Processors Association (KMPA) is a trade association of small to medium-size independent meat businesses and their suppliers. Business is conducted by elected officers and a Board of Directors. Problems of the industry are identified and positions on issues related to their businesses are communicated to governmental agencies or elected officials. Major activities sponsored or co-sponsored by KMPA include: 1) the annual convention with a processed product competition and trade show; 2) the Midwest Meat Processors Workshop at Kansas State University; 3) annual legislative receptions; 4) interaction with other agricultural trade associations; and 5) student scholarships in Meat Science at KSU.   • Annual Cybersecurity Awareness training: All faculty, staff and students must complete the online Cybersecurity Training by Tuesday, April 30.
  • BQA Training: The Collegiate Cattlemens Club is helping host a BQA Training taught by Dr. A.J. Tarpoff. This event hosted at the Stanley Stout Center will be April 23 starting at 6 pm. There will be free Cox BBQ sponsored by the Kansas Beef Council as well as a chance to buy tickets to win a Vaxmate Cooler that is sponsored by Bank of the Flint Hills. The whole event is free of charge and we would like to get a lot more of the students to go through a BQA training! If you would like to attend, please make sure you scan the QR code and RSVP! The form will close one week prior to the event so make sure to sign up early! Learn more about the training here.

K-State Open House

K-State Open House was held on on Saturday, April 6 on campus. Various faculty, staff and students hosted stations within Weber and Call Hall. The 94th Little American Royal was held in Weber Arena. Being the last event to take place in the arena before demolition begins. Stay tuned to next week’s update for results and photos from LAR.
