Congratulations 2023 K-State Meat Judging Team

This team had an excellent year winning the National Western, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Barrow Show, and Eastern National Contests. They were the high team in 18 different divisions throughout the year, had multiple students claim high individual honors, individuals win categories, and all of them place in the top 10. This year was one of the highest scoring and most competitive years in meat judging history and this team certainly did their part to help make that true!
Some of the highlights from the year include:
– Retired the trophy for the Eastern National as as result of their win coupled with wins from the 2022 and 2019 teams
– 3 overall team scores over a 4200
– 2 perfect 400s in specs in the spring season (only team ever to accomplish)
– 2nd highest pork judging score of all-time
– 3rd highest beef judging score of all-time
– 4th highest yield grading score of all-time
– 7th high reasons score of all-time
