K-State wins National Meat Animal Evaluation Contest

A BIG CONGRATULATIONS goes out to the K-State Meat Animal Evaluation Team, who claimed NATIONAL CHAMPION honors today by winning the National Meat Animal Evaluation Contest hosted at the University of Wyoming. The team outpaced all of the competition, winning by an impressive 300-point margin. The team won the Meats, Breeding, Market, Beef Evaluation and Swine Evaluation divisions. This is the fourth straight year and seventh in the past eight that K-State has earned this honor.

Individually K-State had six members place in the top 10 overall, including the top five individuals. Kyla Mennen, Logansport, Indiana, was first; Cole Murphy, Houstonia, Missouri, second; Sadie Marchiano, Fort Scott, Kansas, third; Bailey Lavender, Branford, Florida, fourth, and Sam Stickley, St Paris, Ohio, fifth. Congratulations to the team and coaches.
