National Strategic Selling Institute Annual Auction April 25, 2014

When: Friday, April 25, 2014 Doors Open at 5:30 p.m.

Where: The Wareham, 410 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan

Food:  Hand-carved Kansas City Striploin; Wood-Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast with choice of sauce; Roasted new potatoes; Sautéed Fresh Vegetable Medley; Field Green Salad; Dinner rolls with butter; Walnut Fudge Brownies & Lemon Bars; Cash Bar

The NSSI Benefit Auction allows our Advanced Sales Students to learn about territory  management, prospecting, phone sales, customer relationship management systems (salesforce.com), and the sales process in a real-world setting. The students are tasked with finding items for the auction and selling tickets to the auction. Fifty-percent of the net proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan; the remaining 50% of the net proceeds to toward programming for students, including equipment for our innovative sales labs, professional development programming, student scholarships, and travel for the K-State Sales Team, the Sales Cats.

About the Boys and Girls Club of Manhattan:  Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan offers a safe haven after school where children and youth experience positive, character-guiding activities, complete their homework, and receive support from caring role models.  All programs focus on five core areas: (1) character & leadership; (2) education & career development; (3) health & life skills; (4) the arts; and (5) sports, fitness & recreation. Funds raised will assist in the following areas: before and after-school programs and summer programs for grades K thru 8, teen programs for 7th grade thru18 years of age, and Little Dribblers Basketball for grades 1 and 2.

Swilley presents at inaugural Boyer-Switzer Lecture Series

Esther Swilley, associate professor and L.L. McAninch chair in business, presented “Blog, Pin and Online Review Effects on Advertising Attitudes and Purchase Intentions” at the inaugural lecture in the Boyer-Switzer Lecture Series on February 28, 2014 at Kansas State University.  Swilley’s areas of research focus on electronic commerce, mobile marketing, and technology and marketing.
