The K-State ECE Robotic Competition Team

KSU Robotic Competition Team
KSU Robotic Competition Team: Richard Habeeb, Brandon Miller, Neelou Hadavandifard, Jarrod Krebs, Dustin Chew, Joel Christiansen, Kyle McGahee and Garrett Peterson

When I came to K-State almost four years ago, I had one organization I knew I wanted to join: the Robotic Competition Team. As the current president of the team, I have loved every minute of working with some of the brightest minds at K-State, interacting with my peers and K-State faculty members. Through the Robotic Competition Team, I have learned a great deal about robotics and I have gotten valuable hands-on experience.  I have also received help from other team members on my personal robotics projects, as well as using the combined experience of team members to help me with things like how to do my homework and what classes to take.

Through the years, the Robotic Competition Team has gone through a number of changes. Originally, we were a combat team, competing in Battlebot competitions. However, the demand for such competitions dwindled, and we turned our team to Micromouse competitions. In these competitions, a team builds a miniature robot (slightly larger than a softball) which autonomously solves a maze. The maze is composed of multiples of an 18 cm x 18 cm unit square. The maze comprises 16 x 16 unit squares. The walls of the maze are 5 cm high and 1.2 cm thick. The robot is tasked with traversing from one corner of the maze to the center of the maze in the shortest possible time. We are traveling to our fourth annual competition in San Diego on May 11, where we hope to place in the top five. We have been in the top half of competitions every year we have competed.

In addition to competing in the Micromouse competition in San Diego, the Robotic Competition Team has teamed up with the KSU chapter of IEEE to host our own Micromouse competition at K-State! We have begun preparations and are very excited at the prospect of bringing in universities from around the world to compete. The competition will be a joint coordination between us and the electrical and computer engineering departments of participating universities as well as their IEEE and robotics organizations. We have started construction of the maze, and have contacted other universities that may be interested in attending. We have also been contacted about corporate sponsorship, and look forward to partnering with leaders from industry to make this event a huge success that will continue for years to come!

But, think on this, what if you typed a catchier title?
I ain’t saying your content is not solid., but suppose you
added something that grabbed a person’s attention? I mean The K-State ECE Robotic Competition Team | Electrical and Computer Engineering is kinda plain. You could peek at Yahoo’s
home page and watch how they create news titles

  11. Not having the correct knowledge can limit your
ability towards reaching your goals. When creating a slogan, aim for

  12. Some states do not make it so easy to verify a CNA certification. For instance, a school nurse gets a fixed salary with small yearly increases,
but gets excellent benefits from the state or county that includes a
generous vacation package and retirement plan. Failure rates
are high as the pass rate for the test is 90% or more.
