Partnership Program Funds Faculty Research

The Electrical Power Affiliates Program, or EPAP, is a partnership between Kansas State University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and seven industry organizations: Burns & McDonnell, Kansas City Power & Light Co., Omaha Public Power District, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Sega Inc. and Westar Energy. The program gives engineering students the opportunity to research, learn, network and engage in professional development.

Congratulations to the following faculty for being awarded funding for the 2013-2014 academic year.  Below is a list of all research currently underway through the EPAP program.

Improving Quality of Powerplant Wastewater Using Constructed Wetland Systems

Natalie Mladenov, assistant professor of civil engineering

Ganga Hettiarachchi, associate professor of agronomy

Stacy Hutchinson, associate professor of biological and agricultural engineering

Smart-Grid Networking Protocols Design and Implementation in GENI

Caterina Scoglio, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering

Don Gruenbacher, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering
