Sarah Dwyer, a 2014 KSU graduate in elementary education, is now in her third year of teaching, and remains loyal to the College of Education and the land of the KSU Wildcats.
“I’ve been reading the COE Newsletter since I left K-State,” she said. “Thank you so much for putting together such a helpful, relevant, and ‘real’ resource for new teachers.
“Often times I read an article or excerpt from the newsletter and feel relieved that I am not the only one experiencing that difficulty or reassured that I am actually prepared on something. The article on mindfulness in [the September] newsletter really resonated with me, and I just bought the Mindfulness for Teachers text mentioned in the article. Thanks for sharing!”
She says her administration has provided some great resources, as well, and wanted to share one article link with other Wildcat educators.
“Our principal shared an article with the new teachers that I thought might be helpful for other new teachers. It actually relates to something one of my high school teachers told me over and over again when I was first starting out–surround yourself with good people. Or, as the article explains, surround yourself with “marigolds” in your building.”
