First Scholars served on Martin Luther King Jr. Day making it a day on, rather than a day off. Scholars worked with the American Red Cross and local volunteer Firefighters to promote fire safety. Continue reading “Spring Retreat”
First Scholars learn about leadership and gain skills through different workshops throughout the spring semester.
As First Scholars building and maintaining community is very important. Monthly socials are how we continue to build community among the First Scholar Cohorts.
Please save the date for Sunday, April 10th from 2 – 3:30 p.m. for a dessert reception celebrating the highlights and successes of the past year.
A formal invitation will follow.
We started off the year with a retreat. Scholars did the challenge course and stayed at Rock Springs 4-H camp overnight.
Eric and Deb Suder, Founders of the First Scholars program visited K-State in early October.
As part of the First Scholars program, Freshmen students take a transition course that meets once a week.
Scholars attend one social event a month to help build and maintain community. This fall we have done all of our socials together with both the Freshmen and Sophomore cohorts.
Thank you for your letting your student attend K-State. First Scholars are well known across campus and recognized for the good work they do! I am very proud to work with each and every student!
