Our Students Sharing their Field Camp Experiences

This past summer, five of our students (Sami Villasana, Celine Mazzella, Zane Barrow, Ethan Senne and Matt Arana) attended our International Field Camp in France. They are sharing their experience with us:

“Being able to work in such an incredible area of the world for geology was a once in a lifetime experience. Getting to meet the locals, take in the sights and completely immerse myself in the culture of France. I especially enjoyed talking with the French students about the best types of cheese and what to pair it with, many of them were very proud and informative about the products of their home.” Matt Arana

“The Kansas State University Field Camp is an opportunity that will provide challenging variations of field mapping experiences in multiple locations. This field camp brought us to places that are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that has challenged my outlook in geology. Being immersed in the culture with the students and professors from the region created a connection with another country that otherwise would not be found through tourism. I cannot recommend this program enough to anyone interested in becoming involved.” Sami Villasana.
