Today is National Egg Day! What a fun reason to have breakfast food for every meal! Did you know that eggs are a super food? Meaning that they are a complete protein with no sugar or carbohydrates in them, making them the perfect item to pair with any meal!
The good thing about eggs is that you can eat them in many different ways! When I google it, I get I find 15, 16, and even 27! So I am really not sure how many ways there are to eat an egg, but there are a lot! The top seven ways you can eat it (based on the average times it was mentioned in google) are:
- Scrambled, a classic way to mix up eggs in the morning that everyone loves.
- Poached, is probably the low-fattest way to enjoy an egg due to not cooking it with butter/oil/etc. and you stop the chemical process in a yoke that makes it more fatty.
- Omelet, which you can make healthy, or unhealthy the way I like it! Add veggies to this type of egg and even get your little ones to eat their veggies by hiding them in there!
- Hardboiled eggs, these are great on salads or just on the side of any meal!
- Baked eggs, which is healthier than frying it! (maybe not as tasty though)
- Sunny Side Up, seems to be the most popular, but very hard to keep the yoke from running!
- Deviled Eggs, a party favorite! A good go to for any party or occasion you are going to!
As you can see there are many ways to cook an egg, but I know you probably have your favorite way to eat them. Enjoy an egg this weekend, and if you normally do then Go You, you are eating the one of the healthiest foods out there!
