On Memorial Day this weekend, Harvey County 4-H will host the second annual Spring Swine Show. At this show and many other 4-H livestock shows, participants will not only exhibit an animal that they have worked hard to take care of, but also work to build important life skills.
This weekend we expect more than 120 pigs to be exhibited; all done by 4-H youth age 7-18. Spring livestock shows in particular help youth to gauge their own skill level while learning from their peers as they work with their animals this summer. These youths will continue working to care for their animals and the land that they raise them on.
