Two new faculty members have joined the hospitality management program. Each brings expertise to the department and strengthens the teaching and research program.
Jichul Jang, assistant professor, earned his Ph.D. in hospitality management from The Ohio State University. He teaches lodging management theory, lodging management systems and employee development in the hospitality industry.
His research interests include service management and organizational behavior in the hotel and restaurant industries. His work has focused on decreasing employee turnover while increasing employee engagement, integrating sustainability with hospitality management, enhancing employee creativity, and linking employee motivation to customer experiences in hotel and restaurants organizations.
He and his wife, Hyejin Kwon, have a 4-year old daughter, Sarah Jang.
Jumyong (Stephen) Lee, assistant professor, taught convention and event management classes at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Central Florida before moving to K-State. He received his PhD from Rosen College of Hospitality Management at University of Central Florida.
In addition to 10 years of work experience in the convention and event industry, he has been involved in a variety of research projects related to MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) areas. Currently, his research interests focus on convention destination competitiveness, green practices in MICE industry, impact of destination image at a mega-event, and relationship marketing from the perspective of a destination marketing organization.
He and his wife, Hyuncook, have a 9-year old daughter, Jay Lee.
