Forget 2020! What we should remember is how our campus community persevered to come out “K-State Strong” in 2021!
Since March 2020, The Collegian newspaper, Manhappenin’ magazine, and Royal Purple yearbook staffs have been working remotely, meeting virtually and adapting and re-adapting to continual changes in campus protocols while not skipping a beat to do what they do best: publish award-winning work.
At the National Collegiate Press convention, last October, The Collegian staff earned 11 national awards, including 5th Place for Best in Show. Manhappenin’ took an Honorable Mention for Best Cover in the Design of the Year category; and, the Royal Purple won another Pacemaker – the Pulitzer of college publishing. While the recognition is nice, that’s not the reason our students do their work. They do it for you!
CMG is comprised of a team of young adults who understand the value in serving others while proudly offering our K-State family a platform for our collective voices. And, they rose to the occasion!
Last year’s Editor-in-Chief of The Collegian, Kaylie Mclaughlin, spearheaded a feat to document our K-State family resolve around COVID-19. Her effort culminated in a collector’s coffee-table book titled “Rewakening” that, for just $20, would look great in your living room!
Please consider purchasing one to support her hard work that reflects so much of what we stand for.
With My Gratitude,
