Alumni News

John R. Roberts, B.S. 1972, M.A. 1974, continues his work at the Natomas Conservancy in Sacramento, California. In his role as CEO of the organization, he runs an organization that designs, builds and manages nature preserves in the 54,000-acre Natomas Basin of Northern California. Again this year, John entertained a number of Geography Department majors and graduates students’ questions and shared counsel on the subject of career strategies. He loved getting a chance to meet with students and several faculty members and staff on a visit this past year, and even participated in a St. George meeting, where the cold beer and bountiful popcorn was good, but the conversation with the St. George members even better.

  1. I’m glad to receive the newsletter. I was thinking about the campus the other day and all the great summers I enjoyed riding my bicycle to class. B.S. 1993. Many things have changed and I need to come back & visit with my family and take the tour of the new department on campus. It’s good to stay in contact with fellow Alumni and read about the summer trips that former Profs have taken. For the last year I have been conducting research and met a fellow World traveler by the name of Josie Evans ; who voyaged to the Cocos Island & Galapagos. She produced a documentary on her sailing trip and is available through google named – 600 Days to Cocos Island.
