Proceedings Material from KLA/KSU Field Days Available

Joint KLA/KSU Field Days were held at the Larson Ranch in Wichita County and the Wells Ranch in Woodson County in August. Both events were well attended and provided great information and fellowship. You can access the speaker materials for each of those meetings here. 

At the Larson Ranch, topics included Genetic Testing for Bovine Congestive Heart Failure in Feedlot Cattle, with Brian Vander Ley, DVM, Great Plains Veterinary Education Center, and Michael Heaton, geneticist, USDA MARC and A New Era: Technologies for Beef Yield Grade with Dale Woerner, Texas Tech University. Information on the Asian Longhorned Tick and Thileriosis was presented by A.J. Tarpoff, DVM, Extension Veterinarian with K-State at the Wells Ranch. In addition, information on spray drones and controlling noxious weeds was presented by Wade Newland, Newland Ag Drones and David Kraft with the Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition.
