For the third year, the students of the NSSI Advanced Sales Class will be hosting the NSSI Benefit Auction. Held at the Houston Street Ballroom on April 25, 2015 from 5:30 to +/-9:00 p.m., the auction will be a semi-formal affair featuring fine-dining with food from Coco Bolo’s, musical entertainment, and the auction services of The Canny Team of Johnson, Kansas. Stan Weber, a K-State favorite, will be serving as emcee, and Willie the Wildcat may stop by for a visit.
The 3rd Annual NSSI Benefit Auction allows our Advanced Sales students to learn about territory management, prospecting, phone sales, and the sales process in a real-world setting! The students are working together to find items for the auction and sell the tickets to the event. As part of this process, they learn: (1) phone and voice mail skills; (2) how to manage their sales pipeline using customer relationship management software (Salesforce.com); (3) the importance of follow-up activities; and (4) mastery of the sales process. Last year’s auction raised just under $20,000, with half of the net proceeds going to the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Manhattan. The remaining net proceeds were used to establish a scholarship fund for sales students. Most importantly, because of the skills developed through the auction, all of our graduating students were placed in great jobs!
Last year’s auction was a great deal of fun; we hope to see you there this year! The students will be working hard to find great items for you to bid on; favorites from last year included football, basketball and baseball packages; a beautiful quilt; and artwork. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with dinner at 6:00 p.m. and the auction starting promptly at 7:00 p.m. If you cannot attend, this year’s auction will be broadcast online for remote bidding. Additionally, this year’s sales scholarship winners will be announced at the auction.
