Kudos to the Faculty and Staff

Dr. Joyce Baptist joined the Council of Scholars of the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) International Association, a select group of researchers advancing the field of EMDR. Dr. Baptist was also selected to the Governor’s implementation taskforce for the National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide.

Dr. Elaine Johannes was appointed by Governor Laura Kelly to the Kansas Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention for the Kansas Department of Corrections.

 Dr. Martin Seay was elected as President-Elect for the Financial Planning Association®—the largest membership organization for CFP® professionals, with over 23,000 members. Dr. Seay was also selected as Outstanding Faculty for the College of Human Ecology by the XIX Chapter of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society at Kansas State University for 2018-2019. The award recognizes dedication to student success and the betterment of the University.

Cherie Stueve was selected as the FINRA Foundation Military Spouse of the Year by the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education® (AFCPE®).

Dr. Amber Vennum received the K-State Excellence in Engagement Award for her project, Kansas Alliance for Healthy Positive Schools, which address suicides, depression and anxiety, and interpersonal issues that disrupts academic achievement of local high school students.

Dr. Bradford Wiles was selected for the USDA/NIFA Visiting Scholars Program. He spent the month of June in Washington D.C. working with federal stakeholders on advancing the issue of access to quality affordable childcare in rural America, resulting in grant proposals to the USDA.

Drs. Stuart Heckman, Kristin Pelczarski, and Bradford Wiles were promoted to associate professors with tenure.
