Greetings from Lafene Health Center!
Summer is always such a busy time for us as we prepare for the fall. The weeks just keep flying by and the students will be back before we know it. We are looking forward to getting back to “normal” on campus. For the safety and health of all our patients and staff, requirements for face coverings and physical distancing remain in effect at Lafene Health Center.
Vaccinations are the best way to protect yourself and our campus communities. Unvaccinated students who can receive the COVID-19 vaccine are strongly encouraged to do so prior to arriving on campus. Lafene Health Center continues to offer COVID-19 vaccination opportunities for K-State students. We are currently offering the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine until our supply is exhausted. Once that happens, we plan to offer a two-dose vaccine. Appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine or other needed vaccinations can be made on our myLafene+ Patient Portal or by calling 785-532-6544.
Kansas State University is contributing to a nationwide campaign to end the COVID-19 pandemic by having at least 70% of K-State students, faculty and staff vaccinated by the beginning of the fall 2021 semester. K-State has joined the COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge, which is a joint initiative from the White House and the U.S. Department of Education. The initiative is part of President Joe Biden’s goal to administer at least one vaccine shot to at least 70% of adult Americans and of 160 million Americans being fully vaccinated by July 4.
