Couple and Family Therapy

Where are they now? Connecting with our recent graduates

Jayashree George, M.S. – I am an artist, art therapist and family therapist, and am in the process of setting up my private practice in Emporia, KS. As I work towards a show of my paintings, I continue to write for scholarly journals, teach on an adjunct basis, and present workshops on diversity/anti-oppressive work and fostering creativity through the arts. I enjoy being a wife and mom.

Patricia Barros, M.S. I have started the PhD program in MFT in January.  My husband and I continue to experience a our “long-distance” marriage, and this has given us interesting lessons.

Nathan Hardy, M.S. – I am a doctoral student at K-State working for Jared Anderson as a graduate research assistant. Post-graduation (2 more years!), I hope to be in a faculty position at a Marriage and Family Therapy program. One of the first things our family will do after graduation is to take a trip to Disneyland.

Marcie Lechtenberg, M.S. – I’m in the Ph.D. program in MFT and I continue to work as a GTA, see clients, and cheer for all things purple.  Our youngest daughter married in June and my husband and I thoroughly enjoy spending time with our family and friends.

James Bo Minner, M.S. – My wife (Beth) and I moved back to St. Louis. Although leaving wonderful faculty and friends in Manhattan was difficult, it is nice to be surrounded by family and old friends. I am employed at River Birch Counseling Center in St. Peters, MO., working with school aged children and their families.

James Kale Monk, M.S.  – I am attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) for my doctoral work in family studies and human development. I plan to take the licensure exam during my Ph.D. study and will hopefully see a few clients in one of the local private practices. On a more personal note, my wife and I just bought a house in town and enjoy spending time in Chicago, a 90-minute train ride away.

Rachel Lindstrom, M.S. – I live in Bellefonte, PA., with my husband, Jon, and our two cats, Sawyer and Hurley.  I am attending Penn State for my doctorate in sociology and demography.

Chelsea Link, M.S. – Three days after graduation, I went on a faculty lead tour in South Africa to complete my certificate in conflict resolution. The trip was spectacular, and I learned so much about life and the human spirit. Currently, I am looking for jobs in the Kansas City and Northwest Arkansas areas. I look forward to my next step in my journey of being a therapist.

Lisa Blohm, M.S. – After receiving my master’s degree in MFT and certificate in conflict resolution, I have been actively looking for a clinical position in the area. I hope to continue to use the skills and knowledge I’ve gained working with individuals, couples, kids, and families. I have also begun working on my mediation hours as I hope to become an approved mediator as well as an LMFT. I also plan to pursue an LAC in the future.

Caitlin Pixler, M.S. – I live in Cedar Falls, IA., and work for Monarch Therapy Services Inc. in Northeast Iowa. I provide clients with individual, family, and play therapy.

Adryanna Drake, Ph.D. – I live in Manhattan, KS., with my husband, Darren, and our two dogs. I am currently working at K-State College of Veterinary Medicine in a position that combines clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities.
