Launch Legacies: Bungii

The co-founders of Bungii, Ben and Harrison, are previous K-State Launch winners. You may be wondering, “Where are they now?” They’re actually quite a few places. Let us tell you a little bit more about them.

Ben Jackson and Harrison Proffitt won Launch in 2015 for their big idea of Bungii. On their website, they share a little bit more about how it all got started:

“On a hot Manhattan afternoon in 2014, Ben Jackson had four different friends ask if they could borrow his pickup to help haul stuff across town. Multiple truck loads later, being more worn out than his ’99 Ford Ranger, he laid in bed thinking, “there has to be a better way.”

The next day in class at K-State, Ben whispered his dilemma to Harrison Proffitt who nonchalantly replied, “Let’s start a business.” They walked out of that class with one concept in mind: tap a button, get a truck.”

And that’s exactly what they did. You download the app. You take a photo of what needs to be moved. You get connected with a local driver and a pickup truck. Payment is handled within the app itself. Boom. Problem solved. Bungii has grown and so has the team. They’re headquartered out of Kansas City but have expanded to also serve Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Atlanta. Proud would be an understatement. Check out Bungii‘s website if you’re interested in learning more. Below you’ll see their 2015 Launch photo versus one of their current press photos available on their website.
