Update from Peer Mentor President, Delaney Johnson

The PFP Peer Mentor Program is a student-led organization that began in 2017. Since then, it has grown and helped facilitate meaningful relationships between PFP mentors and mentees. The program kicked off the new semester under new leadership with Delaney Johnson as President and Max Huebner as Vice President. Jill Parker remains a vital part of the program’s success by helping leadership develop this program efficiently and effectively.

At the beginning of the semester, the program began training with four returning mentors and three new mentors. Although operating virtually, the program has overcome this difficultly and continued to make meaningful connections and build relationships with mentees. The goal of the program continues to be to connect upperclassman with underclassmen as well as assisting students that are new to the program. The PFP mentors help their mentees thrive and succeed as students in the Financial Planning Profession, both in class and off-campus. The Peer Mentors also meet with new students who are interested in the PFP major and minor. Regardless of the actions, the PFP mentors are taking, they remain motivated by their passion for having a “head for business and a heart for people”.
