The 2011 Doctoral Cohort traveled to Europe in May with Associate Professors Kristy L. Archuleta and Cliff Robb as part of the capstone course examining international personal finance.
Each of the nine students presented research aligned with their planned dissertation topic at either the University of Antwerp School of Business in Brussels, Belgium, or at a meeting of the Financial Planning Standards Board at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Doctoral students presenting research included Sara Stolberg Berkowicz, Jamie Blue, Anthony Canale, Edward Horwitz, George Nabeshima, Erika Rasure, Kristen Stutz, Racquel Tibbetts, and Kelley Williams.
Among the research topics were The Association between Personality and Net Worth by George Nabeshima, Money Disorders by Anthony Canale, Discussion of the Financial Planning Process from the US Perspective: Best Practices and Actual Practices by Sara Berkowicz, and Couples Financial Anxiety and the Relationship of Financial Equity, Financial Management Roles, and Shared Goals and Values by Kelley Williams.
At the University of Antwerp, Archuleta and Robb presented research on an overview of financial therapy and financial counseling.
Previous doctoral cohorts have presented research in Seoul, South Korea.
