We are proud of our alumni!

The College of Health and Human Sciences Celebration of Excellence Award honors the significant contributions made by graduates and friends of the college.

We were proud to recognize two award winners from FSHS in October 2019.

Dr. Matthew Johnson was selected as the Distinguished Research Award winner which recognizes significant contributions to humanity and the profession through research. Matt graduated from K-State in 2012 with a Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy. He moved to Canada that year as an assistant professor in family science at the University of Alberta and was promoted to associate professor in 2017.

His program of research focuses on understanding the development of couple relationships.

 

 

The Crisis Center was awarded the Public Advocacy Award for their impact on issues important to the fields of health and human sciences.

The Crisis Center was formed in 1979 after concerned citizens realized that sexual assault and domestic violence were pervasive in our community and that victims’ needs were not being met by existing services. The Crisis Center provides 24-hour free, confidential services to sexual assault and domestic violence victims residing in Clay, Geary, Marshall, Pottawatomie and Riley Counties, including Ft. Riley. Each year, 25-40 K-State student volunteer at The Crisis Center.
