Classes and Workshops

The Museum hosts a variety of classes and workshops throughout the year for all ages!

ARTSmart classes: Explore the current exhibitions. Each class includes looking activities in the galleries and an art project. Classes are held on the first Wednesday and Thursday of the month at 10:30 (ages 2-5) and 4:30 (all ages). Upcoming classes: April 3 & 4: The Artist’s Studio, Painters

Homeschool Tuesdays meet on the first Tuesday of the month allows Homeschool families to investigate the exhibitions and collection with curriculum integration. Tours are appropriate for those in Kindergarten on up and include an art project. Upcoming class: April 2, 1-2:30: The Artist’s Studio, Painters (chance to compare watercolor and acrylic paint)

Registration open for 2022 Young Artists Program: includes museum tours and art workshops taught by art teacher Georgia Allgier. The classes for younger children allow artists to explore a variety of media. Classes for older children will focus on learning more about specific techniques. Join us in celebrating the work of the district’s students and their teachers, on display in the UMB Theatre. Sponsored by the Manhattan-Ogden Public Schools Foundation.

This year’s theme is “Game On,” and there will be gallery games to help you explore the spring exhibitions.

Join us for a free afternoon of gallery activities and art projects for the whole family. This year’s special theme is “Land and Sea” and additional inspiration will come from the National Endowment for the Humanities Picturing America print set. Co-sponsored by USD 383 Early Learning Centers, K-State Institute for Early Childhood Education and Research, and Kansas Child Care Training Opportunities Inc.
