Beach Museum of Art Exhibition Designer and Technology Lead Luke Dempsey contributes to a scientific research paper with lead author Hasib Mansur, K-State Biological & Agricultural Engineering; Stephen Welch, Agronomy; Daniel Flippo, Biological & Agricultural Engineering.
The open access paper “Importance of Photo-Realistic and Dedicated Simulator in Agricultural Robotics” published in Scientific Research: An Academic Publisher emphasizes the need of a dedicated and specialty simulator for agricultural robotics research.
Hasib Mansur et al. explore the need for a dedicated agricultural robotics simulator that would provide the necessary development tools to robotics engineers for creating more advanced and effective solutions. Dempsey provided guidance on how to solve camera simulation problems like lens distortion, rain-on-lens simulation, and glare minimization. These are all components that affect the performance of robots in the field.
