Pharmacy at Lafene

As mentioned in the February Parent and Family newsletter, Lafene Health Center has a full-service pharmacy that offers convenient, affordable care.  Lafene’s pharmacy staff can fill prescriptions from our Lafene Medical Providers or from your student’s hometown provider.  Existing prescriptions can be easily transferred to the Lafene pharmacy by calling 785-532-7758 with a request for the Lafene pharmacist to call your local pharmacy. Prescriptions with refills from Lafene’s Medical Providers may also be transferred home to the student’s local pharmacy by a telephone call from that pharmacy to Lafene.  Online prescription renewal is available through the myLafene+ patient portal on the Lafene website.  Prescriptions are typically filled with minimal wait times, and students are notified via text when their prescription is ready to be picked up.

In addition to prescriptions, Lafene pharmacy provides access to many other items that can be purchased at competitive prices.  These items include common over-the-counter (OTC) medications including also lotions and creams, vitamins and even blue-light blocking glasses for computer fatigue.  If there is something our pharmacy does not have that your student needs, they should ask if it is something that can be ordered routinely for overnight delivery.

The Lafene pharmacy even has a drive-thru that has been an effective strategy as we experience the challenges related to COVID-19.  Although there are not students living in the residence halls on campus, there are still students in the Manhattan area that use the pharmacy for some of their health needs.  Individuals still getting prescriptions at Lafene pharmacy have been able to drive, bike and/or walk up to our pharmacy window to maintain safe access.  Our pharmacy staff are taking extra precautions cleaning the mobile signature logging pad between each purchase and wiping down credit and debit cards prior to and after use.

Lafene Health Center remains open during the COVID-19 Pandemic to provide essential services, including access to pharmacy needs.  The pharmacy drive-thru hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Lafene Pharmacy continues to help ensure that Every Wildcat is a WellCAT!
